On the Singing Xmas Tour, our exclusive minivan and chauffeur, an historic steamer and a horse-drawn sleigh will transport you to idyllic Christmas markets and gorgeous scenic overlooks in the province of Salzburg. The boat ride on the Wolfgangsee will give you an initial impression of the beauty of the landscapes in the Salzkammergut. On the subsequent horse-drawn sleigh ride, our entertainer Dana Hammett will create a lovely Yuletide atmosphere, performing well-known melodies to the rhythm of the trotting horses. This will lend the beauty of the region’s imposing landscapes even more intensity.
Musical welcome at the hotel
On this full-day tour, our entertainer and your personal chauffeur will pick you up at your hotel in the morning. Following a personal welcome, our luxurious Mercedes minivan will drive out past Schloss Fuschl into the Salzkammergut lake district, transporting you into a different realm. Shortly before St. Gilgen, a breathtaking view of the idyllic winter landscape surrounding Lake Wolfgangsee will open up before you.
Ride the historic steamship to the Christmas market in St. Wolfgang
We’ll board an historic steamer to take us across the lake to the village of St. Wolfgang. The magic of the beautifully decorated villages on the shores of this famous Salzkammergut lake will enchant you even from the water.
Romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride through a magical winter wonderland
Once we arrive in St. Wolfgang, we’ll take a one-hour, horse-drawn sleigh ride through the magical winter wonderland between Lake Wolfgangsee and the Schafberg, passing snow-covered trees and the lake, with the snowy peaks of the surrounding mountains always in view. Your breath will form little clouds of steam when it hits the crisp, cold air, while you snuggle a little deeper into your warm blanket. While the horses snort out front, their hooves drumming softly on the ground. While the bearded coachman, dressed in traditional attire, tells interesting anecdotes about the region. While the wind blows gently in your face despite the horses’ leisurely pace. A real treat for all you romantics and pleasure-seekers out there.
A Christmas market that will make the kids‘ eyes sparkle– and yours too!
Afterwards, we’ll stop at the Christmas market in St. Wolfgang, where the ingenious decorations and romantic lighting ensure an extraordinary experience. Fragrant “Vanillekipferl” (vanilla crescent cookies – a traditional Christmas cookie here), “Bauernkrapfen“ (“farmer’s doughnuts”) and the region’s strong, warming winter drinks like mulled wine, Christmas punch and “Jägertee” (Hunter’s Tea) are not to be missed. The Advent market delights visitors of all ages with lovingly designed market stalls, extraordinary decorations and a wonderfully festive atmosphere. And with her singing interludes, Dana adds a very special flair as well.
Enjoy the sunset aboard ship as we steam toward the Nativity village in Strobl
As the sun sets, we’ll take a short boat ride to the idyllic village of Strobl on the opposite side of the lake. During the Christmas season, this village is transformed into a picturesque Nativity scene. The Bethlehem stable awaits you on the lakeshore with its life-size Nativity figures, including a team of horses and shepherds. There’s even a small petting zoo, where you can pet sheep, goats and other small animals.
If you feel like visiting more Christmas markets, your chauffeur will take you to the Christmas market in Salzburg’s Old Town or directly back to your hotel.
Your personal chauffeur and entertainer will pick you up at your hotel in the morning.
