The Grosser Saal of the Mozarteum Foundation was built between 1911 and 1914 and is located in the Schwarzstraße. The overriding style is late historicism characteristic of Munich, and elegant details were combined with elements of the local Baroque tradition, art nouveau and patriotic building art. With its special ambience, it is one of Salzburg’s most beautiful event venues.

Today concerts of several concert promotors take place at Grosser Saal of the Mozarteum Foundation. The world-famous concert venue is used for concerts of the Mozarteum Foundation and the Mozartwoche, for concerts of the Mozarteumorchester Salzburg, Camerata Salzburg, Philharmonie Salzburg as well as for Mozart Matinees of the Salzburg Festival.
